Classes

Currently will are training every Tuesday evening. We are offering to the general public Basic and Novice (Intermediate) Classes, and Open Floor for members afterwards.

Basic and Novice are 8 weeks long, meeting once each week. New classes will be starting Sept 2, 2008. Click PDF or Microsoft Word for the pre-registration form and for more information.

Basic Classes - This class is geared to a dog that has no prior obedience training and owners that are looking to turn thier dog into a well behaved pet. To submit submit your application for the next Basic classes please email Elena McKnight the IRDTC training director. She is also the POC if you have any questions regarding the upcoming class schedule. Cost per 8 week session: $80.00 includes properly fitted collar and durable lead.

Novice Classes - This is the intermediate level class that is geared toward moving toward an obedience title or just a well trained pet. If you have completed the basic obedience class and want to move on then submit this application to Elena McKnight . Cost per 8 weeks session: $50.00 non-members and free for members.

Information from AKC website explains Novice trial classes. "Novice Class demonstrates good canine companion skills such as heeling, both with and without a leash, coming when called, standing for a simple physical examination, and staying in both a sit and a down position with a group of dogs. In Novice Class, dogs earn an AKC Companion Dog (CD) title after receiving a qualifying score under three different judges.

Open Floor Time - This time is open to all club members who would like to come and use the training facility and equipment to practice their individuals skills. Cost: Free for Club Members

Rally - Rally is a AKC sanctioned event similar to Obedience but the handler and dog are required to perform obstacles as directed by signs. This is a fun and exciting sport that is taking off in popularity. We are offering classes in Novice and Advanced currently, please contact Brenda Rondinone for more information and signup.

Competative Obedience - Designed for the indivduals who are currently working toward an obedience title on thier dog. This is the first step to preparing to earn your Companion Dog (CD) title. Cost per 8 week session: $50.00 Non-members and $25.00 for club members

Conformation - In this class you will learn the basics of getting your dog ready for Confirmation Shows. Cost per 8 week session: $50.00 Non-members and $25.00 for club members
